Founded in 1954 as the Canadian Aeronautical Institute, the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) is a non-profit scientific and technical organization for people interested in aeronautics, space and remote sensing. Among its many benefits, CASI delivers to its members and corporate supporters an international network of contacts and access to a wealth of technical and professional information.
CASI’s first Astronautics conference was held in 1982 and “ASTRO” conferences have been held every two years since then. The selection of Toronto as the host city for ASTRO 2010 puts the Conference within easy reach of the many space enthusiasts in the GTA/905 area, as well as students and professors who attend the several local universities with aero/space programs. The Conference venue is the Westin Bristol Place Hotel, located just two minutes from Toronto Pearson Airport and easily accessible from all parts of Canada and the USA.
The rich program of oral and interactive presentations and the exciting line-up of senior industry, government and academic representatives who make up the plenary panels, will appeal to a diverse range of delegate interests. We look forward to welcoming back the regular ASTRO conference attendees and we hope to attract people who haven’t been to an ASTRO Conference before, particularly members of Canadian and American space-related societies.
